SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary role of the Direct Support Professional is to assist individuals acquire and maintain skills to improve their daily-living, domestic, adaptive, and socialization skills. Responsibilities will vary from case to case but may include:
* Supporting individuals learn, maintain or improve skills through their participation in a variety of activities of everyday life.
*Assisting in the transition to independent living, finding resources such as housing, goverment assistance programs, and community resources.
* Engage in activities with the individuals to allow them to live in the community, to live more independently, or to be more productive and participatory in community life
* Submit accurate and complete daily progress notes for each shift worked with individual
*Positions are part time/per diem to start but possible to build case load up to 30+hours
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
* Positions generally start part time/per diem with potential for a full case load based on incoming referals
* Must be compassionate and willing to care for the well-being of others
* Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
* Willing to comply with required policies, standards and regulations
* Must be CPR/First aid certified, or willing to take required courses to become certified
* Must have a valid drivers license and existing insurance
* Must be willing to complete given background checks
* Must be willing to drive individuals in personal car throughout the community
* Must be independently driven and be capable of managing your own schedule and tasks
* Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
